Welcome to our AGRI-SEARCH Newsletter!
"Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord." Luke 2:10-11
Today Is All We Have

As we celebrate Christ’s birth and prepare to switch the calendar to a new year, there is an emotional tug on our heartstrings. The joys, successes, and accomplishments of the year gone by can flood our thought processes and leave us lamenting the fact we will never pass down this exciting path again. Or, with a sigh of relief, we may ponder our frustrations, failures and sorrows and eagerly look forward to a new year still fresh with no mistakes along its path.

With age and wisdom, it becomes clearer just how valuable time is.  We also learn that people and relationships are more important than any "thing" we can ever possess. Great satisfaction comes in life when we use our valuable time to interact in activities and relationships that have a positive impact on everyone involved.

A former colleague often said, "Experience without reflection is experience wasted." Now is a good time to ask ourselves, "What have I experienced in the past year that I need to take time to reflect on and

learn from?" Great value can be gained as we take time to capture those valuable experiences that life has presented, whether they bring great satisfaction or sorrow.

Life is short. The calendar flips again, and too soon death will come to each of us. If you are reading this, today is a gift.  It is all you are guaranteed. Enjoy it and use it wisely. Make good decisions and have a positive impact on those within your sphere of influence. Then, ask yourself every day, "What do I need to do today to better use my time, be more encouraging, and have a more positive impact on the people around me?"

Please feel free to expand upon these thoughts by reading "Now What?"
elsewhere in this newsletter.
Have a joyous Christmas and blessed 2022!

Now What?

As we wrap up 2021, take a moment to reflect on what has now been a long-circulating article via the internet and social media. Although it has a somber tone, it sets the stage for the purpose behind this month’s AGRI-SEARCH Update.

First, I was dying to finish high school and start college.
And then, I was dying to finish college and start working.
And then, I was dying to marry and have children.
And then, I was dying for my children to grow old enough for school.
And then, I was dying to retire.
And now, I am dying …
and suddenly, I realize I forgot to live …

We recognize that for some, this might be a little severe for what is normally a lighthearted and thought-provoking newsletter, but as consultants who engage in conversations daily with hiring managers and candidates alike, a common question has emerged more in recent years than ever before…Now what?
